Intended for use by crop scouts, agribusiness representatives, extension agents, area crop specialists, educators, students, growers, and researchers, the fourth edition of the Compendium of Corn Diseases is a practical reference for both plant pathologists and general audiences. New features include a diagnostic key to aid in the identification of disease symptoms, a new section on the use of fungicides for foliar disease management, a section on storage molds, and expanded entries for increasingly important diseases, such as Diplodia leaf streak, stolbur mycoplasma, seedling blights, and nematodes that feed on corn. The section on diseases caused by viruses has also been expanded to include more detail.
The number of color figures has increased from 177 to more than 300, and are found within the appropriate discussion relating to each figure. Two-thirds of all the figures are new.
This edition includes an appendix that identifies common names of diseases of corn, along with their pathogens. Throughout the book common names are generally provided, along with their scientific names.
